Our Saga

“Hey, you sure are fun at parties, so why isn’t your food? You plan entertaining events, have creative themes, dream up fun dress codes. Shouldn’t your food be equally inspired?” This was me talking to me in a little internal monologue when I attended the fiftieth party where all was lively and original - other than the food, that is. Once more the same old samosa squatted beside the same old bowl of chutney, yet again the pulao grew lumpier the longer it sat in the food warmer, and there were the customary naans laying sleepily beside too-familiar curries.

I decided I was going to make the party food have a party. Just live a little before being, um, eaten, you know? So it started. Take that, food, here’s some extra jazz in your world! How about a look makeover, how’re you liking your shape now? And you thought you two were a couple, wait till you see how well you go with this saucy thing! What about you, traditional dish, how does a bit of fusion look on you?

That’s how it went. Sort of.

And here’s the kick: in the same universe (ahem, the same neighborhood) another SAHM was dreaming the same foodie dreams. Enter Bhawna. She had left Delhi, carrying with her memories of the city’s vast and varied street food, locally called “chaat”. Bhawna has a background in creating authentic Punjabi dishes. I, Jyoti, am from Vancouver, and I have a background of creating authentic Gujarati dishes. When we came together in a partnership to recreate the concept of party food, a venture that was much bigger than anything we had anticipated was born.

At Eat Graze Love by JB, we try to tell stories through the food we create and the way we present it. East meet west in chaat? dishes that not only taste great but also look visually appealing. We have also pioneered fusion style charcuterie boards that carry a variety of Indian and American snacks. Our grazing boards have something for every taste bud, and together, they tell a unique story. These stories are entirely customizable: you can pick the elements of your particular food table, and leave us to take care of the rest.

So go ahead, look for that party hat, strap on that party shoe. We will be over here making sure your guests are filled with delicious food - and admiration of your mad party skillz.
